Agenda for Saturday 18 October 2008 Gisborne Skateparks Group meeting
September 25, 2008 - 07:26 — drupal_admin
Hey, what do YOU want to talk about at the next skatepark meeting? Help keep the meetings as focused as possible by building up an agenda beforehand. Go ahead and list any ideas you would like to discuss at the meeting. Cheers! -Remo
1. How do we go about making a decision for the skate park? How do we decide what goes in?
2. Is there need to create a priority list? i.e. Which things need to be focused on and in what order?
That's all for now! I havent had time to type up the las meetings minutes yet, but will get it done as soon as I can!

Kia ora! I would like to add the following items to next meeting's agenda, but they might simply be a part of AnDy's above agenda items:
1b. Meeting Schedules:
- open community meetings specifically designed to gather input (such as the first Saturday of every month);
- as compared to the "Gisborne Skateparks Group" (or "Gisborne Skateparks Council"?) meetings such as October 18th for representatives of the various skatepark groups in order to communicate progress on particular action items, etc.
and
2b. KingPin's Push Kick East Coast Competition: priorities specific to this major end-of-year competition, including the role, if any, of this Gisborne Skateparks Group in helping contribute to the event, and in suggesting and/or reviewing any newly proposed ramps or other skate structures, even if they are to be "temporary" (but long-lasting) wood features.
2c. Proposal of additional bowl-riding & vert-ramp competitions to that weekend's competition festivities. Since the Push Kick East Coast competition primarily focuses on the street & spine areas, but is such a great event at bringing in skaters from all over New Zealand here to Gisborne, why not round out the competition weekend with some more comps?
- possibly use the Alfred Cox vert-ramp and bowls, whether on the NEXT day, or
- possibly use Alfred Cox on the same day, either BEFORE or AFTER Push Kick East Coast's "main event";
- or possibly even Kaiti Bowl on the NEXT day?
Especially if KingPin might NOT be interested in other groups participating in Push Kick East Coast itself, perhaps these supplemental competitions could be hosted by other interested groups such as ourselves :-) After all, while KingPin has been responsible for this great event for several years (since when?), it is such a wonderful opportunity for the entire Gisborne skateboarding community to share our skateparks AND show off our skateboarding. And perhaps some of the planning and financial logistics (such as PA rentals, etc.) could be shared as appropriate, hopefully simplifying the process while making it an even more amazing skateboarding weekend for Gisborne and everybody!
